A/Prof. Brett Robertson

Associate Professor Brett Robertson is a healthcare executive, researcher, and MedTech entrepreneur with deep expertise in orthopaedics, surgical innovation, and translational medical technology. As Co-Founder and CEO of ArthroLase and a key leader behind OrthoLuma, Brett is helping drive the development of next-generation laser robotics, intelligent navigation, and optical sensing technologies designed to transform orthopaedic surgery.

With a PhD in peri-operative orthopaedic rehabilitation and a background spanning clinical healthcare, medical research infrastructure, and commercialisation, Brett has spent more than a decade building and scaling high-impact health technology ventures. Prior to ArthroLase, he founded successful healthcare businesses and led major medical research and surgical training initiatives, including the development of advanced simulation and medical training facilities in Australia.

Brett has secured more than AU$20 million in competitive investment and grant funding, authored more than 20 peer-reviewed publications, and led multidisciplinary teams across robotics, AI, laser photonics, and orthopaedic innovation. Widely recognised for his ability to bridge clinical need, engineering innovation, and commercial strategy, he is focused on advancing smarter, more precise, and more accessible surgical technologies for the future of joint replacement surgery.
